Extraordinary Roman Rite of the Mass in the Philippines

Last September 23 2007, Msgr. Moises Andrade Jr., Vice Chancellor of the Diocese of Malolos in the Philippines, Parish Priest of the Philippines National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima at Valenzuela and top Filipino liturgist initiated the implementation of Pope Benedict XVI's Summorum Pontificum allowing again the Mass according to the 1962 Missal to be celebrated for those who favor this Roman Rite as extraodrinary form. Sung Mass began at 8pm at the main altar of the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima using the Chants for the Missa di Angelis. Since then it has been regularly observed every Sunday at 8pm. He has also been invited to the majestic Parish of St. James the Great in Ayala, Alabang to celebrate the Extraordinary form of the Roman Rite.

Another priest who celebrates the Extraordinary Roman Rite is Fr. Joseph Skelton, an Afro-American priest attached to the Diocese of Tagbilaran, Bohol, Philippines. He was invited to celebrate the Mass at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima and at the Sto. de Violago Chapel.
Fr. Michell Joe Zerrudo has been celebrating the Indult Mass since 1998 first at the Basilica Minore of San Lorenzon Ruiz at Binondo, Manila and transferred it later to his former Most Holy Redeemer Parish at Masambong, SFDM. He now celebrates it everyday at his new Our Lord of Divine Mercy Parish at Sikatuna, Q.C.
